The Pasadena Playhouse is committed to providing underserved and underrepresented youth the opportunity to experience world-class theater. At every mainstage performance, we have seats earmarked for Title I students, community organizations serving youth and alternative learning institutions who might not otherwise have the means to attend a live performance event. We have found these opportunities, on numerous occasions, to be transformative in the lives of the young people who attend. Every New Generations group is paired with a Playhouse Teaching Artist to prepare for the performance. In some cases, a teaching artist will visit a group at its site; and in others, a teaching artist will meet a group in-person at The Playhouse about an hour prior to the performance to guide the group through the evening.
