Director of Development  
The Playhouse seeks a Director of Development to provide leadership and direction for the theater’s comprehensive fundraising program, which includes the annual fund, special events, membership, capital funds, donor acquisition and restricted project support, and endowment giving. Supervising a staff of five, the Director of Development cultivates donor prospects; maintains and enhances relationships with current donors; and develops, implements, and evaluates short-and long-term development strategies to advance the theatre's artistic vision and mission. The position reports to the Managing Director and works closely with the Artistic Director and Board to provide leadership in designing and implementing overall fundraising strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and oversee all functions in the fundraising program including Board Giving, Major Gifts, Corporate Sponsorships and Support, Foundation and Government Grants, Annual & Capital Giving Campaigns, Prospect Management, and Special Events.

• Specific areas of responsibility include: Develop strategic short and long-term fundraising plans and goals and execute their implementation - including the development of a comprehensive capital and annual operating fund campaign and its associated messaging

• Provide input and opinions to the leadership team on overall organizational decisions as appropriate as a member of senior management

• Oversee day-to-day management responsibility for the development department team; hire, train, and supervise development staff

• Assist in recruiting, convening, and supporting fundraising committees of the Board of Directors

• Provide Directors with adequate support and tools to engage in fundraising, partner with Board and Director on large asks as necessary and appropriate

• Develop and manage department budgets, including projection of fundraising revenue

• Plan and implement an on-going major gifts program with measurable goals and outcomes

• Develop and implement a planned giving program

• Build and administer a personal portfolio of major donors and prospects

• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the position

Work will require frequent evening and weekend hours consistent with the theater's schedule of events and activities.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in communications, liberal arts, or other related areas, as well as and a minimum five years of senior development experience in fundraising for cultural or educational institutions. Five or more years experience supervising professional staff; excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to make sound, ethical decisions and judgment calls in a strategic manner. Excellent organizational, project management, and computer skills, as well as the ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

Marketing Associate

Marketing Associate

Under the direction of the Associate Communications Director, the Marketing Associate will be a key member of the Marketing and Communications Department who emphasis on advertising, promotions, audience development, subscription sales. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the creation and implementation of a $500,000 print, electronic, and online advertising campaign; retail, community, media, organization, and online promotions; copywriting; and supporting the Audience Development Coordinator and Direct Sales Manager in managing their projects and staffs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Advertising

• Assist with copywriting for entire season
• Facilitate online advertising and promotions including Search Engine Optimization, key words, blogs, and other web-based communications.
• Work with Associate Communications Director on single ticket advertising planning, research, ordering, trafficking, and fulfillment.
Promotions
• Developing subscription and single ticket promotional programs with retail (malls, restaurants, Charter), community (CVB, non-profits), arts organizations (ticket trades, package campaigns), media (print, radio, online) and other outlets.
• Develop marketing pieces specifically related to subscription and single ticket promotions (posters, coupons, flyers, etc.)
• Develop corporate subscription sales materials and marketing messages. This may include working with development department to reach out to board members and other corporate contacts.

Audience Development

• Manage single ticket postcard and flyer distribution to local community
• Manage single ticket postcard trades with third party arts organizations
• Develop subscription packages and single ticket special offers for targeted groups
• Represent the Playhouse at events, conventions, and public appearances
Direct Sales Liaison
• Research Pasadena Playhouse database and other sources and conduct zip code analysis, with a focus towards telephone sales.
• Attend weekly Direct Sales meeting and some evening shift


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• B.A. in Arts Marketing/Administration or related field
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimum supervision.
• Creativity and flexibility with regards to professional process and idea generation
• Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven conflict resolution skills.
• Experience supervising staffs a plus.
• Ability and willingness to maintain/provide a high level of service to staff and vendors.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks.
• Computer skills including word processing, databases and spreadsheets.

Operations Manager
Under the direction of the Associate Managing Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating day to day operations for a LORT B theatre with a $7 million budget and a staff of 60 people. The Operations Manager is a key member of the team, assisting in the smooth execution of productions and artistic programs throughout each season. Primary responsibilities include office and facilities management, managing vendor relations, and maintaining a company calendar of all major activities, events and meetings. Ideal candidate should multi-task, thrive in a fast paced environment, and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. Budget management experience and a background in non-profit theatre or performing arts preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide administrative support for Associate Managing Director

• Manage Facility Operations including coordinating custodial and building staff, utilities, maintenance, etc.

• Manage Office operations including maintenance of office equipment, supplies, organization, etc.

• Maintain company calendar as tool to facilitate optimal use of the building and to coordinate growing level of programs, activities, meetings, etc.

• Develop and track annual budget for facilities and administrative activities

• Provide general assistance for Finance and Human Resources departments

• Assist in planning and implementation of company events and activities

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience supervising staff a plus.

Direct Sales Associate

Join the Playhouse team! Pasadena Playhouse is looking for enthusiastic and articulate theater lovers to make outbound subscription sales and fundraising phone calls. Sales experience, especially telemarketing, is a plus; love of the arts and theater is a must!  Work Sunday through Thursday evenings, either 3:00-9:00 P.M., or 5:30-9:00 P.M.

Earn up to $9/hr, plus commission, plus bonuses.
