EDUCATION & OUTREACH
Allies In Arts - A School Membership Program
Pasadena Playhouse offers a comprehensive membership program to middle
and high schools interested in attending multiple productions at the
Playhouse. Member schools have reservation priority and special pricing
for our student matinee series. They also receive teacher-training
sessions, in-class visits by teaching artists and supplemental study
materials.
Student Matinees
Every Mainstage production has a designated 10:30am student matinee.
These performances are complimented by a post-show discussion with the
entire cast! Tickets are available on a show-by-show basis, as are
supplemental Educator’s Guides.
New Generations
Working in association with local youth organizations, the Playhouse
brings at-risk and underserved youth to Mainstage productions for
first-time theatre experiences and interaction with artists. Through
these relationships, we are able to provide cultural experiences for
thousands of young people who do not generally have access to them.
Internships
For individuals interested in pursuing work in the professional theatre,
the Playhouse offers summer and year-round internships in artistic,
production and administrative areas. Click
here for details.
Children’s
Theater
The Playhouse presents a number of exciting and educational theatrical
events for kids, ages 4-12, and their families. Performances are in our
smaller Carrie Hamilton Theatre allowing for an up-close introduction to
the magic of live theatre.
Conversations With…
This community focused program features distinguished guest artists,
playwrights and directors in engaging and lively discussions around a
particular production. Special events like these dialogues give the
audience an inside look at the world on our stage. Check the
calendar for details.
Directors Lab West
As part of its dedication to developing the future artists of the
American theatre, each May, the Playhouse hosts this 8-day lab for
emerging and mid-career directors. Click
here for
details.
