In early 2015, The Pasadena Playhouse was one of 25 nonprofit arts organizations nationwide to receive the prestigious, “Building Audiences for Sustainability,” grant from The Wallace Foundation, a national arts funder. With this support, The Playhouse is engaging and growing Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) audiences. We are employing marketing strategies and community organizing methods to further our efforts in championing diversity in all aspects of our organization. We thank our community partners thus far who have supported this work. The Tapestry Project reflects our intentions to actively listen and partner with AAPI leaders and groups to ensure that The Playhouse reflects the multi-layered experiences and interests of our community.
