YEAR-ROUND INTERNSHIPS
Pasadena
Playhouse offers a variety of year-round training opportunities for
committed young artists looking to bridge the gap between
educational and professional theatre. While internships are not
paid, scholarships are available through our generous Alumni
Association. Additionally, opportunities are available for part-time
paid positions within the theatre. Internships generally run from
September to May.
Areas of Focus for 2009-2010
Internships
will be specifically tailored to meet the needs of the intern and
the theatre following these basic groupings:

Eligibility of Applicants

All applicants to our year-round
internships must be:

College graduates by September of
2009, or maintain equivalent professional experience.

Available to commit for the
duration of the program.
Living in, or willing to relocate to, the Pasadena/Los Angeles area.

Self-starters with an
enthusiastic interest in multiple disciplines of live theatre.
Compensation for Interns

Possible $5,000 Henry and Joyce
Sumid Scholarship for continued theatre studies. Visit the website:

says only high school and college students are eligible, the
scholarship committee has made these monies available to internship
applicants as well.)

Application Requirements
All applicants should submit their completed application via email
by March 1, 2009 to:

Applications will only be considered complete when all items have
been received. It is preferable that all pieces, excepting letters
of recommendation, be submitted together.

(must be submitted on original letterhead).
Selection Process
Applications are currently being accepted for the 2009-2010
internship class. Following the submission deadline of March 1,
2009, all applications will be reviewed in an initial selection
round. In early March, finalists will be contacted for a live
interview. These interviews can take place over the phone or
in-person per the coordination of the applicant and the pertinent
Playhouse staff. Candidates will be notified of selection by late
March/early April.
