Zona Rosa Caffe’s legendary Dia De Los Muertos festival is back and bigger than ever for its 25th year on Saturday, October 26th. Enjoy a Mexican Zócalo the community can taste sugar skulls, smell fresh marigolds, enjoy children’s calaca face painting, performances from the Bob Baker Marionettes, and more. This free, family-friendly community event is presented by Zona Rosa Caffe and Pasadena Playhouse.

Smell fresh marigolds from Jacob Maarse Florist and see altars in the Pasadena Playhouse courtyard & Playhouse Plaza courtyard by Liz Espinoza, Sonali Kolhatkar, Los Jornaleros – Pasadena Community Job Center. Watch chalk artists Patrick Garcia, Mri Scott El Bey, Liz Espinoza & Monica Orozco Thaller in action on the sidewalk.

Purchase traditional Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) gifts and books from a variety of street vendors.

Fun activities include crafts by Southern California Children’s Museum, giant games presented by Mr. Pasadena, and calaca face painting by Adrianna Face Painting. Grab a great event tee or tote bag silkscreen live on site! A live radio broadcast will be presented by the Manuel Vicente Pasadena Day Labor Workers.

 

 

Featuring Artwork at Zona Rosa Caffé
Featured artists at Zona Rosa Caffe will include works by Lalo Alcaraz, Minh Thai, Peggy Carroll, Yvonne Marquez, Ernesto Vasquez, Laura Vazquez Rodriguez, Noemi Vega, Yaneli Delgado, Liz Espinoza and Rudy Torres for this special Dia de los Muertos Art Exhibition.

Many of these works of art will be on display leading up to the event at Zona Rosa Caffe beginning October 9th and running through November 10th.
