Sensory-Friendly Performance, July 25 at 10AM

This sensory-friendly performance of “Jungle Book” is presented in partnership with Professional Childcare Development Associates (PCDA).

Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a safe and welcoming environment for families of children with autism or other sensory sensitivities to enjoy a performance at the theater.

Accommodations for these performances will include:

  • Preparatory material such as pre-visit social narratives with character guides describing what to expect
  • House lights will remain on at a low level throughout the show
  • Lower sound levels, particularly for loud or startling cues
  • Lessening of strobe light or lights focused on audience
  • Designated quiet and take-a-break area(s) will be available
  • Patrons are free to talk and move about the theater as much as they wish during the performance
  • Space throughout the theater for standing and movement
  • Limited crowds and visitors at the Pasadena Playhouse for the day and time of the performance
  • Pasadena Playhouse staff will be trained to be inviting and accommodating to patron’s needs
  • Mobile devices can be used for communication during the performance
