Ages 11 – 15

In this exciting introduction to devised theater, students ages 11–15 will become actors, playwrights, and changemakers as they collaborate to create an original theater piece inspired by the theme of Resistance and Resilience. Through improvisation, physical exploration, and creative writing, students will transform their ideas into a powerful performance, developing each scene through a collaborative creative process. As they workshop and rehearse their original production, they’ll discover their unique artistic voices, strengthen their acting and storytelling skills, and gain confidence in working as an ensemble. The ten-week session culminates in a final performance for friends and family, celebrating the students’ creativity while demonstrating how theater can spark conversation, inspire empathy, and create social change.

“What is Your Cancellation Policy?”

If participants cancel at least ten (10) days before the start of that class or camp, they may receive a full refund.
Participants cancelling between 9 -1 days before the start of class or camp may receive a 50% refund.
No refunds for classes cancelled the first day of a class or camp, or anytime after the class or camp has started.
Students should have no more than 1 planned absence from their class or camp.
Refunds are issued through the Registrar (626-344-8979). When cancelling a class, please also email education@pasadenaplayhouse.org with your student’s name, the name of the class/camp you are cancelling, and the start date of the class.

“When is Drop Off and Pick Up?”

We allow for a 15 minute drop-off window before class starts. We cannot be responsible for students on our campus before then.

“Is There a Final Performance?”

On the last day of class, there will be a presentation for families of the student’s work in the Carrie Hamilton Black Box Theater at Pasadena Playhouse. There will not be tickets for purchase, but each student will be allowed to invite a limited number of guests to the show.
