Puppetry Puppetry

Puppetry  |

Ages 10-15

Puppetry is back at the Playhouse! This time we’re exploring Table Top Puppetry, the collaborative art of bringing life to small, realistic characters right in front of us. In this eight-week class, students ages 10-15 will explore each essential element of the table-top puppet theater – from designing and building your puppet to working with an ensemble of fellow puppeteers to animate it onstage. Led by Jim Henson Foundation-supported puppeteer Sam Rotengold, the class promises a deep dive into puppetry fundamentals, collaborative performance practices, and puppet fabrication techniques. Together, we’ll stage small, devised dramas, and learn how professional artists conceive, create, and perform shows like Wakka Wakka’s DEAD AS A DODO, coming to the Playhouse mainstage in February!

PLEASE NOTE: We have a limited number of partial scholarships available on a rolling basis. If you are interested in a scholarship, please apply using the link below.
