Playhouse Junior Ensemble: Disney’s Frozen Jr.  |

Fall 2025

Are your kids ready to take their theatrical performance to the next level? The Playhouse JR. Ensemble is a great next step.

Students ages 8-18 will rehearse and hone their musical theatre technique from September – February in preparation for their trip to compete at the Junior Theatre Festival (JTF) in Sacramento, CA.  Our 24-25 Junior Ensemble brought a 15 minute cut of James and the Giant Peach Jr. to JTF – winning the “Excellence in Ensemble” award and two All-Star medals for individual student performances. This year they will be taking Disney’s Frozen Jr.!

At the Junior Theatre Festival, no costumes, props, or sets are allowed in the competition, so students must work together to create imaginative, ensemble-driven versions of their show title. The Junior Ensemble members therefore practice advanced voice technique, physical theatre training, and complex choreography to bring their characters to life using only their voices, bodies, and imaginations.

About The junior theatre festival (JTF)

JTF is a festival dedicated to celebrating and promoting musical theater education for young performers and students. The weekend-long festival involves workshops, performances, and competitions where young theater enthusiasts can showcase their talents, learn from professionals, and connect with others who share their passion for musical theater.

PLEASE NOTE:

Participation in the Junior Theatre Festival is a requirement for participation in the PLAYHOUSE JR. ENSEMBLE. Parents and families are welcome to attend with their children, but all festival attendees must pay a registration fee and cover their own transportation, food and lodging. Students who attend without their parents will be chaperoned the entire trip.

We have a limited number of partial scholarships available for tuition. If you are interested in a scholarship, please apply using the link below.
