Playhouse Players: Premiere Showcase |
Ages 11 – 17Advanced students will have the exciting opportunity to audition for a staged reading of a brand-new, never-before-seen musical as part of Pasadena Playhouse’s Playhouse Players series! Working alongside teaching artists and collaborators in a professional rehearsal environment, selected students will help bring an original work to life from the ground up — exploring character, music, storytelling, and ensemble collaboration in the process.
Inspired by the Playhouse’s commitment to bold new works and theatrical innovation, this unique experience gives young performers a rare behind-the-scenes look at how musicals are developed, while building confidence, creativity, and advanced performance skills.
Audition Information:
Students will sign up to audition on June 27 or August 1 between 12:30-2:30pm. They will be assigned a 5 minute slot within that window to audition in front of the directors. Auditioners will be asked to prepare 16-32 bars of any song (accompanied via track) and will do some cold reading (reading pages of a script they have not seen before). If your student will be out of town both of these days, email education@pasadenaplayhouse.org to discuss alternative options.
Scholarship Information:
We have a limited number of partial scholarships available for our classes. If you are interested in a scholarship, please apply using the link below. Please note, scholarship applications for Playhouse Players Premiere Showcase will be reviewed after the auditions.
